Visa

A valid passport with validity for at least six months after leaving the country, and a tourist visa are required to undertake a trip to Myanmar. The individual visa can be obtained by mail and is valid for three months after the date of issue. Maximum stay in Myanmar is 28 days. It takes four to five working days to obtain a visa at the embassy and about three weeks if you request one by mail. The fee for a visa is 50 USD.

Visa on arrival is available for below nationalities starting from October 2019.

• Swiss
• German
• Russian

The visa package is best reserved for those traveling in groups through travel agencies. To apply for this visa, a certificate from the agency is required.

The FIT visa is reserved for those traveling alone. No proof of the corresponding agent is required for this visa, but the embassy of Myanmar in Switzerland sometimes asks for a letter. In this case, we can send you one.

To obtain a visa to Myanmar, you must have:

• A passport whose validity is good for at least 6 months after the end of your stay
• A completely free page in your passport
• Three recent identical passport photos
• Official forms for visa at the Embassy of Myanmar filled out
• Visa fees
• A separate visa for children over seven years mentioned in the passport of a parent
• A stamped envelope to CHF 5 for the return of the passport letter signature, if you request it by mail (for Switzerland)
• All documents must be signed by hand
